Want your Android phone battery to last longer? pay money for apps.....

A research project by Purdue shows that an enormous drain of Android device batteries is that the ads served by free apps. The Android app freemium model provides the app away in exchange for administering ads within the app. this is {often|this can be} often done by checking the device GPS to see the phone location, to serve ads pertinent to the user’s location. sadly, The Purdue analysis shows the battery drain of the ads is up to 3 times the drain of running the particular app.

It’s surprising that this analysis determined that solely ten - thirty p.c of the battery utilized by fashionable free apps is from truly running the app. The lion’s share of the drain is all thanks to the ads being served whereas running the app. That’s not a awfully sensible tradeoff to avoid paying a buck or 2 for an app.

If there's a paid version of your favorite apps it's going to be an honest plan to bite the bullet and pay up. Turning off these power-hungry ads will solely be an honest factor.

Android get fastest speed than Opera...........

For years, Opera has quietly dominated the mobile browsing scene. Even when the iPhone’s popularity skyrocketed, Opera’s huge put in user base kept their browser firmly within the lead. however there’s a replacement preferred now: Android has crept into the pole position

The reason for the shift is simple enough to examine. Opera used to supply one thing nobody else did: a capable browser that ran on terribly cheap phones. Even on older BlackBerry phones, the Opera browser was the thanks to go. Today, however, there are uncountable low-cost smartphones accessible from carriers round the globe running Android.

In last one year, the Android browser has seen its market share rise from around Bastille Day to just about pure gold. Opera’s share had remained fairly stable at around twenty first, briefly jumping to twenty fifth in December 2011 before commencing to slip throughout the post-holiday months. Android doesn’t seem to own stolen abundant of Opera’s share, however. Rather, Nokia’s browser seems to be the victim here — falling to regarding Martinmas from nearly terrorist organization over the last twelve months. BlackBerry, too, has taken a beating, dropping seven proportion points as RIM struggles to work out the way to plug the holes.

LG Optimus with Android Gingerbread headed to MetroPCS

MetroPCS is getting ready to launch a new LG Optimus Android smartphone, after the Optimus M, launched at the end of 2010, and based on the popular Optimus One. Reportedly called LG Optimus M+, the new handset isn’t a high-end device. But that was expected, since the original Optimus M isn’t, either.

The Optimus M+ borrows some design elements from LG’s new L-Style smartphones, showcased in Barcelona at MWC 2012 last month . It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and features a 3.5 inch HVGA display, Bluetooth 3.0, 5MP rear camera with Flash, and an 800MHz processor.

There’s no word on exactly when MetroPCS will start selling the LG Optimus M+. The handset should be offered for a low price anyway (anything over $200 off-contract wouldn’t make sense). The Optimus M+ could become MetroPCS’ second LG device in 2012 – after the relatively high-end LG Connect 4G, introduced earlier this month.
